After getting eyelash extensions, you will need to maintain them to ensure they last as long as possible. One form of maintenance is to gently wash eyelash extensions daily.
In this short article, we'll discuss the steps you need to follow to wash your eyelash extensions.
NOTE: Do not get your eyelashes wet for the first 6 hours after the procedure. 24 hours is best. You need at least 24 hours for the adhesive to cure to ensure the extensions stay on the lashes.
- Remove eye makeup with care using and oil-free remover. Wipe makeup away from the extensions and do not use cotton balls.
- Wet your eyes with cool water. Avoid hot water and steam as it will weaken the adhesive if you wash eyelash extensions. You can use a specialized lash shampoo to splash over your eyelashes. Do not rub your eyes at any time.
- If using lash shampoo, rinse off and gently dab the eyelashes dry.
- Use lash wand to carefully fan out the lashes and remove any excess water or oil.
You should gently wash your eyelashes daily to prevent the accumulation of dirt, oil, makeup residue, and dead skin cells from affecting the extensions.
Taking proper care of your lashes will often increase the time they last.
