How to Become an Eyelash Technician
Have you thought about becoming an Eyelash Extension Artist?
It's a fun and rewarding profession that requires time, patience, high manual dexterity, and an artistic touch.
How to become an Eyelash Extension Technician
In order to legally perform eyelash extension procedures on clients, you'll need to be trained and certified from an approved training academy. The training academy works with the local health department and other relevant government agencies to provide proper instructional material and a sterile working environment.
Depending on the type of course you are taking, it could take anywhere from 1 to 3 days. 1 day courses are most common for entry level classes like learning classic lashes where longer classes often cover more advanced techniques like Volume or Russian Volume lashes.
Earn the Certification to become an Eyelash Technician
Many training academies provide instruction in the form of lectures and live demonstrations. After the learning is complete, then you must be able to perform the procedure yourself with hands-on training.
*NOTE: If a training academy is willing to certify you without letting you have hands-on training on a live model, please reconsider and find a new academy.
At Wink Inc, we require that you have hands-on practice with a live model and that you complete a full set of lash extensions before we certify you as a professional. This requirement ensures that only those with proper and complete training are legally permitted to practice lash extensions.
Paying for the Course
Sometimes training can be expensive, usually because there are a lot of costs involved. Luckily for you, becoming a lash artist doesn't have to break the bank.
Our course for Classic/Basic Lash Extensions is $850 and comes with a complimentary product kit worth $400 that you can use for your business after you are certified.
If you can't pay for the full course up front, you may pay a non-refundable deposit to confirm your position in the next course and then pay the rest when you arrive for study. This is a great way to pay for the class because you have time to acquire the total amount of the course without having to pay full price upfront.
